We woke early and talked to the Polish family camping next to us. They had met Romanians who had told them Albania was wonderful.
The garden where we were staying was lush and well-kept. It was a good place to stay. We also sat and talked to our helpful host.
He told us that Albania was safe. If we had travelled 15 years ago in such a campervan we would have returned in a taxi. He told us the Albanian language was a special Indo-European language that contained yhe sounds found in all the European languages. He told us Albanians could do amazing things with stone, that we could pay in Euro and that we should drive slowly as we were in the Balkans. He was very helpful and what he told us turned out to be true. I recommend Blue Star Apartments!
We set off for the border after a visit to a supermarket. Even that was interesting as we parked in a rubbish tip and walked along the road to the supermarket like proper Montenegrans.
We bought olives and white cheese and fig biscuits, nut and poppyseed cake and toilet paper - supplies for our journey on to Albania. We set off and were at the border at around 10.30. There were about 16 cars ahead of us and the queue did not seem to be moving much. My theory is that it was the border guards' coffee break because ib a while the line started to move quite fast. Then we were going into Albania.
