A Garden of Earthly Delights

The Casas do Rio had a wonderful green and verdant garden with swans, a pond, an olive grove, a little black kitten (which Zlatica fed so that it followed her hopefully into our room whenever it could, even going in the bathroom). We enjoyed swimming in the pool and sitting in the jacuzzi, sipping port on the veranda.

We also went to the local shop and met a woman who had 14 children. Her youngest daughter with her husband dropped us off at Altameira restaurant. They were just about to close but agreed to serve us if we ordered the roast pork. It was delicious.
