We set off after breakfast and joined the stream of pilgrims. We had cafe con leche at the top of the steepest hill. Then we climbed more steadily up to the camping ground where we met some Irish pilgrims. Then we arrived at Monte de Gozo and had our first sight of the cathedral in the distance. Then we had a long hard slog through thecity and up over the last hill before descending to the old town. It was now 26°C. We had a plate of cheese, later a peach and then a cup of tea by the pilgrim's gate but then instead of entering the old town we went round to our accommodation, where we discovered that Mum's bag had not arrived. We did some calling and emailing. I rang the last hotel we had stayed at in Lavacolla and luckily the clever son answered and got in touch with the company who had delivered it to Hotel Lux. I rang Hotel Lux and they agreed to send it over in a taxi which they did - so we went out and had a beer to celebrate. Tomorrow we will finish our camino and do the last few hundred metres, visit the cathedral and venerate the remains of St James.
